Boy, 16, shot by gunman on Citi Bike in NYC: cops

A 16-year-old boy was shot and wounded by a gunman on a Citi Bike in The Bronx late Monday, cops said.
The teen was walking at the intersection of Boston Road and Charlotte Street, just outside Crotona Park, around 9:20 p.m. when a group of males approached him — some of them on Citi Bikes, police said.
The shooter, who was riding one of the bikes, opened fire, striking the victim in the chest and leg, police said.
He was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
The motive for the violence was unclear.
The victim was one of five teens shot across the Big Apple in the span of 11 hours on Monday — one of whom died.
Foridun Maulonou, 15, was fatally shot in the back during a clash on 62nd Street near 20th Avenue in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn around 1 p.m., cops said.
Later Monday night, three teens — aged 15, 16 and 17 — were struck by bullets in the heart of Times Square, police said.
A male suspect opened fire on the group during a dispute on Seventh Avenue between West 41st and 42nd streets at 11:50 p.m., the NYPD said.
All three young victims were hospitalized in stable condition.
The shooting was “not random,” police said.
No motive was released.
